J: Judy P: Patrick

Patrick asks his older sister Judy for advice about a date with his girlfriend.

J: Are you planning something special for Valentine’s Day with your girlfriend?

P: Yeah, I want to take her out for a nice date, but I haven’t booked a restaurant yet.

J: You’d better make a reservation soon. Have you thought about getting her a gift?

P: I was thinking of just getting her a bouquet. People usually buy roses, right?

J: Come on, Patrick! You should be more thoughtful than that.

P: Well, what should I buy? Maybe some chocolate?

J: Honestly, chocolate and roses are kind of cliché, but they’re a good place to start.

P: What would you suggest?
