Soon after the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, strange things started to occur. Some people linked several events to a curse that was placed on anyone who dared to disturb the pharaoh’s tomb. The idea of the curse began when George Herbert, the financial backer of the search for Tutankhamun’s tomb, died from an infected mosquito bite a few months after the tomb was opened. After that, reporters started writing sensational stories about the curse.
