Even with many studies, the Windeby Child is still surrounded by mystery. When people first found the body, they noticed some interesting features. For instance, the hair on half of the head was missing. There was also a strip of cloth over the eyes and several branches covering the body. These strange findings led many to believe that the child was the victim of a ceremonial killing. Researchers now think part of the head was exposed to the air, which caused the hair on that side to deteriorate over time.
