1. 许多父母自孩子年幼时就有给予他们零用钱的习惯。

可译为：Many parents make it a habit to give their children pocket money from early childhood.

译题密技：

 make it a habit to V　　有……的习惯，习惯于……

 此处的 make 为不完全及物动词，之后不能用不定词片语（to V）作受词，一定要用虚受词 it 取代，接名词 a habit 作受词补语后，再接不定词片语。本片语亦可用 make it a rule to V 表示。
字词加油站：

 a. pocket money　　零用钱

 = allowance　n.

 b. childhood　n. 童年（时期）

2. 借由这种方式，他们希望帮助孩子逐渐习得管理金钱的能力。

可译为：In this way, they hope to help their children gradually acquire the ability to manage money.

译题密技：

 In this way, ...　　以这种方式∕这样一来，……

 way 指「方式、途径」，in this way 表「以这种方式、这样一来」，本用法中的介词 in 也可以省略。
