　　Just as rain brings the earthy scent of petrichor, thunderstorms create a different kind of smell that is equally distinctive and fascinating. The scent associated with thunderstorms is sharper and almost metallic. Some people can even detect this unique smell before thunderstorms roll in. As unbelievable as it sounds, this phenomenon can easily be explained. The smell of a thunderstorm comes from a molecule called ozone, which is made up of three oxygen atoms.
